Craig Hilton Samba Das Sombras is the collaboration between Craig Hilton on guitar and Sara Romweber on percussion . Their release Encantado is a collection of original material influenced by Bossa Nova and Samba .
What they have created is an intimate , almost dark cinematic feel of just the lone guitar and percussion . At times it is rhythmically complex and uptempo ( Sospecha or A Grande Sphere ) , others it is quite still and somber ( Tema de Sombra or their arrangement of Baden Powell's Tristeza E' Solidao ) . Even those not familiar with any of the influences mentioned above will easily find something to listen to again and again here .
